MSHA/OSHA Trainer

Great Plains Safety and Health Organization (GPSHO) is seeking a safety professional knowledgeable in both Mine Safety (MSHA) as well as OSHA compliancy. The successful candidate must possess a strong work ethic, be self-motivated with minimal supervision, and understand the importance of customer service.  

Essential Job Functions

  • Evaluate, manage and ensure client regulatory compliance related to mine safety, health and environmental policies

  • Identify best workplace practices with the overall goal to eliminate hazards, increase safety awareness and develop employee safe work habits

  • Conduct training in compliance with state and federal guidelines; follow client training plans to meet all federal requirements

  • Experience with technologies and best practices for instructional manuals and teaching platforms

  • Conduct Site Inspections

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental or equivalent

  • Minimum two years professional experience, including training facilitation

  • MSHA (Part 48/Part 46) and/or Underground Mine Experience

  • OSHA/Safety training certifications

  • Knowledge of using Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

  • Excellent communication and organization skills

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills
